Signs of the afterlife #8

Nature

This is perhaps my favourite category of afterlife signs and every time I read another story it feels like the first time and I’m filled with a sense of joy and expansiveness. There are infinite possibilities for heaven to use natural signs to speak to you, but the most common involve feathers, clouds and rainbows. Here is a story that illustrates how these signs sometimes appear:

Always beside you

I was beside myself with grief at my mother’s funeral. I didn’t think I could get through it and was thinking of leaving, but then I saw this brilliant white feather on the floor beside my feet. I picked it up and when I did I felt stronger. The tears were still there, but with the feather in my hand I was able to get through it. I’ve still got the feather today. It isn’t quite so white and shiny as it was when I found it in the church, but to me it is the most beautiful thing I own. It’s Mum telling me she is always beside me. I’ve found other feathers since, but none as beautiful as the one in the church.

My father in law passed away in July 2017, after the funeral we were at home and I was stood by a wooden cabinet in our lounge, my young son did something silly that made me move and my wife then stood exactly where I had stood straight after. She looked at the top of the cabinet and amongst the photo frames a brilliant white feather was there, which wasn’t there before. My wife believes in the white feathers and she has kept them ever since. And every now and then small white feathers can be seen floating down from the sky but no birds have flown past.
